Monohydrate dextrose is a simple sugar made from corn. It is used in confectionery, cakes, beverages, biscuits, cookies, jams, jellies and honey-based products. Dextrose is used to treat very low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), especially in people with diabetes mellitus.
